Vito Cacucciolo

Vito Cacucciolo is an accomplished academic and entrepreneur currently serving as an Associate Professor and Senior Scientist at Politecnico di Bari since November 2021, and as a Research Affiliate at MIT Media Lab since August 2022. As CEO of Omnigrasp since October 2020, Vito also contributed as a BRIDGE Fellow at the BRIDGE Programm from November 2020 to November 2021. Previous roles include a Scientist position at EPFL from August 2017 to November 2021, specializing in muscle-like actuators and skin-like sensors for intelligent and wearable robots, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Candidate at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna from November 2013 to July 2017, focusing on Soft Robotics. Vito's educational background includes obtaining a PhD in BioRobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering, along with a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Bari.
