Ronald Petru has extensive experience in the medical and informatics fields, currently serving as the Theme Leader for Information Security and Privacy, pediatric intensivist, clinical data scientist, and pediatrician at Radboudumc since December 1998. In addition, Ronald holds the position of Chief Medical Information Officer and has been a member of the Advisory Board for Clinical Informatics and a guest lecturer at Eindhoven University of Technology since November 2015. Ronald also serves as an expert advisor for Helseplattformen until May 2024 and previously completed a residency in pediatrics and neonatology at St Joseph Ziekenhuis from October 1995 to December 1998. Earlier in his career, Ronald was a First Lieutenant Medical Officer in the Royal Netherlands Army from September 1994 to October 1995. Educated at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Ronald earned an MD degree in medicine from 1986 to 1994 after completing pre-university education at Lodewijk Makeblijde College in Rijswijk.
