Marcus Noel has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marcus is currently serving as the Chief Security Officer at ReliabilityFirst Corporation since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at FirstEnergy, where they held various roles, including Manager of Cyber Security, Security Technology and Engineering Supervisor, Security Engineering Supervisor, SOC Engineer, and Security Analyst from 2011 to 2021. Before joining FirstEnergy, they worked at National City Bank as a Security Analyst and Information Protection Analyst from 2007 to 2009. Marcus also gained experience at Cuyahoga Community College, where they worked as a Network Security Analyst and Computer Services Repair Technician from 2001 to 2007. Marcus started their career as a PC Technician at Pioneer Manufacturing from 1999 to 2001.
Marcus Noel's education history includes degrees from several institutions. Marcus began their education at Kettering University from 1997 to 1999, where they studied Computer Engineering and Computer Science. In 2010 to 2011, they attended Bryant & Stratton College - Parma and obtained an AAB in Accounting. Later, from 2012 to 2014, they attended Baldwin Wallace University, where they pursued a BA in Business. Continuing their education, they studied at Cleveland State University, earning an MBA from 2018 to 2020. Lastly, they attended Cleveland State University - Cleveland-Marshall College of Law from 2016 to 2020, obtaining a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Our team includes electrical engineers, computer engineers and cyber security experts, statisticians and risk experts, attorneys and regulatory experts, professional auditors, systems engineers, organizational design experts, and professional trainers. ReliabilityFirst is one of only six companies across North America that are responsible for this vital work under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)-approved delegation agreements with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Specifically, our company is responsible for the reliability and security of the electric grid in the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes areas of the United States, which includes all or portions of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and the District of Columbia.
