Alan Schmitz

Alan Schmitz is an accomplished firmware engineer with a diverse background in embedded software development across multiple industries. Currently employed at RLE Technologies since July 2024, Alan previously held roles as an Embedded Linux Engineer at FreeWave Technologies, where Linux software was developed for embedded platforms, and as an Embedded Software Engineer IV at Woodward, Inc., focusing on safety-certified software for industrial control systems. Alan began a successful career in software engineering at Hach Company, developing firmware for industrial handheld devices, and has continued to enhance technical skills through various positions including Senior Software Engineer roles at Fidelity Comtech, Inc., and Hewlett-Packard, among others. Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of North Dakota.
