Philip joined DSM in 2011 as executive vice-president corporate strategy and acquisitions, responsible for strategy development, improvement programmes, and M&A. He became a member of DSM’s Executive Committee in 2015, taking in addition responsibility for the pharmaceuticals (in the meantime divested) and food specialties businesses. Since 2020, Philip is responsible for all of DSM’s activities in human nutrition and health, as well as M&A for the Group.

Before joining DSM, Philip was a partner at McKinsey & Company, and the leader of McKinsey’s Chemicals Practice in the Benelux and France.

He is on the supervisory boards of Amyris, ChemicaInvest, AnQore and AOC Aliancys. He holds masters in chemical technology from KU Leuven, and in refinery engineering from the French Institute of Petroleum.
