Steven Schaal

Steven Schaal serves as Vice President and General Counsel at Ruan Transportation Management Systems since July 2023. Prior to this role, Schaal was General Counsel and VP of Risk Management and Environmental, Health and Safety at OK Foods Inc. from March 2022 to July 2023, overseeing legal, compliance, and risk management functions. Schaal's extensive experience in the transportation insurance sector includes roles at Great West Casualty Company, where responsibilities included legal oversight as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, as well as Manager of Legal and Compliance. Schaal's earlier career at Tyson Foods encompassed positions as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, managing workers' compensation claims and major commercial litigation. Schaal holds a Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
