Dave Hembrough

Co-lead Children & Youth Physical Activity & Sport Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University

Dave Hembrough is an experienced professional in the fields of physical activity, sport research, and strength and conditioning. Currently serving as the Co-Lead of the Children & Youth Physical Activity & Sport Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University since June 2006, Dave also holds a 0.4 fellowship role as a researcher in residence with Darnall Wellbeing. In April 2023, Dave became the Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sport Science Officer at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, while also engaging as a Research Fellow in Knowledge Exchange. Dave's involvement with British Weightlifting spans from 2011 to the present, where Dave serves as an England Weightlifting Group Board Member and Coach Tutor. Previous roles include Head of Strength & Conditioning for the Glasgow 2014 games with Table Tennis England and Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach for London 2012 with GB Volleyball. Educationally, Dave holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sport and Exercise Science, a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports Injury Management and Therapy, and a PGDip in Advanced Business Engagement, all from Sheffield Hallam University.
