Position Overview 

Houdini Education Interns report to the Education & Training Lead and work alongside the entire Education Department. Interns work in our Toronto Head Office. This job includes producing tutorials, training materials, and supporting content for the Education Department. It requires someone with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Throughout the internship, you will improve your Houdini skills and strengthen your industry network.

What you will be working on

  • Providing assets for Houdini Insight -our learning management system for educators:
    • Recording and producing educational videos for use in courses on Houdini Insight.
    • Development of curriculum guides for training events and classroom sessions.
    • Creating detailed and annotated Houdini files demonstrating course concepts.
    • Developing visual guides and reference documents (Job Aids).
    • Testing workflows and reporting areas that need improvement to inform the creation of video-based training materials.
  • Providing general and technical support to the Education team.
  • Occasionally present work online for example in webinars.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer issues as it relates to Houdini workflow and content creation for training facilities and educational institutions.
  • Help with general office duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need to be successful

  • General understanding of Houdini’s interface, workflows, and concepts.

  • Strong examples of personal work using Houdini with visual breakdowns.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Intermediate skills designing in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator.

  • Experience with editing video and audio in Adobe Premiere/Davinci Resolve.

Not required but great to have

  • Experience teaching online or in person.
  • Comfort recording your own voice for training purposes.

Education Interns work out of our transit-friendly Toronto Head Office located directly adjacent to Union Station in the heart of downtown Toronto. Open-concept with a relaxed style that includes casual dress, and wraparound views from the 14th floor.
