John Dill is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the fields of visual analytics and engineering. Since 2010, John has been a member of the Vancouver Institute for Visual Analytics and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia since 2008. John has held the position of professor at Simon Fraser University since September 1987. Additional experience includes a tenure as a board member for IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications from 1981 to 2004, and as chief scientist at ThoughtShare Communications Inc. from 1999 to 2000. Early career roles include management positions at Cornell University and a significant research role at General Motors Research Laboratories. John holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Science/Information Science from Caltech and has master's and bachelor's degrees from North Carolina State University and The University of British Columbia, respectively.
