Russell Cloward

Russell Cloward is an accomplished professional in the fields of electrical and automation engineering with extensive experience in various supervisory roles. Currently serving as Superintendent of facilities, electrical, and automation at SM Energy Company since May 2025, Cloward has previously held positions including Superintendent at FourPoint Energy, LLC, and Ovintiv, where responsibilities spanned facilities construction and automation. Prior experience includes management roles at Encana Corporation and as a team lead for controls, electrical, and measurement at Newfield Exploration. Cloward began the career as a PLC/HMI Programmer at Questar and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Weber State University.
