Naila Meyers

Naila Meyers is an accomplished professional in sports journalism with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Deputy Sports Editor at The Minnesota Star Tribune since January 2020, Naila previously held significant roles at The New York Times from January 2005 to January 2020, including Senior Editor for Quality and Planning, where responsibilities included editor training, managing the sports report schedule, and overseeing tennis and hockey coverage. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Staff Editor, Weekend Sports Editor, and Staff Editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as well as earlier roles as a Copy Editor at Sporting News and as a Summer Editing Intern at Smithsonian Magazine. Naila's career began with a Summer Reporting Internship at The Blade. Naila holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University, obtained in 2000.
