Sean D. Lavine

Dr. Sean D. Lavine is a Professor of Neurological Surgery and Radiology at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has dedicated his practice for over 20 years exclusively to diseases associated with the cerebrovascular system and to those diseases treated with endovascular neurosurgical and interventional neuroradiological procedures. He was among the first surgeons in the country to complete training in these procedures after completing neurosurgical training. He serves as a Clinical Co-director of Neuroendovascular Services at the Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, He is also a former Chair of the American Association of Neurological Surgeon/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Cerebrovascular Joint Section, and in that role, he helped set national policy on the delivery of acute stroke care. Dr. Lavine and the Department of Neurosurgery offer comprehensive care of cerebrovascular and related diseases. Additionally, Dr. Lavine collaborates with all other members of the Department and many other specialties that recommend the use of minimally invasive endovascular and percutaneous procedures to the benefit of patients with a wide variety of conditions.
