Michael Lee Sherwood has extensive experience in the field of information technology and public safety, currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Information Technology for the City of Las Vegas since February 2016. Previous roles include Deputy Director of Public Safety and City Technology and Manager of Business Services for the City of Irvine from November 2012 to February 2016, and Chief Information Officer for the City of Oceanside from May 1996 to December 2012. Additionally, Michael held positions as Technology Manager at Moreland & Associates, Inc. and Manager of Information Technology at Stoorza Ziegaus and Metzger. Michael began a career in technology as a Project Liaison Coordinator at Smith & Nephew from March 1991 to April 1994. Michael holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from USC Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.

Today, city officials use The Atlas – for free – to browse case studies, post questions and follow trending topics. Companies pay a subscription to use The Atlas for targeted marketing, sales intelligence and increased deal flow. Tomorrow, The Atlas will be the platform where all local government transactions occur. In this first 8-months theplatform grew to host over 12K city users from 2.2K cities that impact 247 million US residents.
