David Meyer

David is co-founder and CEO of Humane America Animal Foundation, and co-founder of Food System Innovations, a nonprofit consulting arm of Humane America. He is also a trustee for the Food System Research Fund and was interim director of the Plant Based Foods Association.

David has worked in animal advocacy since 1993, and founded and ran Adopt-a-Pet.com until its sale to Kinship Partners/Mars, Inc. In recent years, he has turned his focus to removing animals from the human food system. He advises many non-profits and for-profits in the space, and also advises some of the largest philanthropic funders in the space. He has been vegan/vegetarian since 1985, and is a role model for what can be accomplished without an animal-base diet, as he holds nine world championships in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
