John Sharry

John Sharry is an experienced clinical director, educator, and writer, currently serving as the Clinical Director at Parents Plus since January 1998. In this role, John leads a charity focused on developing educational resources and conducting research in parenting and child welfare. John also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at UCD School of Psychology and has been the Director of Solution Talk since March 2009, where training in solution-focused approaches and positive mental health is provided. As a columnist for The Irish Times, John contributes articles to the Health Plus section every other Tuesday. Previously, John worked as Clinical Director at SilverCloud Health and held various roles including Principal Social Worker for the Mater Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and Director at the Brief Therapy Group. John's academic background includes a DPsych in Psychotherapy from Middlesex University, an MSc in Social Work from London South Bank University, and a BA in Theoretical Physics from Trinity College Dublin.
