MEMIC is looking for an Associate Business Analyst in the Portland, ME area.

The Associate Business Analyst will assist in identifying and implementing improvements that drive value and efficiency for the MEMIC Group. The Associate Business Analyst will assist with the design and deployment of cross-functional initiatives and evaluate the cost and benefits of past and potential changes to drive continuous improvement. This is achieved by working with business, technical, and vendor team members to identify defects and/or enhancements, gather requirements, define use cases, document process changes, and create and execute user acceptance testing plans.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. **Researches information to produce business requirements and create scope documents for tickets, enhancement requests and small to medium size/complexity projects.
  1. **Gathers specifications and participates in the testing of solutions provided by system vendors and/or internal teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  1. **Establishes and maintains effective communication and collaboration with product/project teams, business stakeholders, Information Technology, Policyholders and Agents, as applicable.
  1. **Identifies and investigates errors or anomalies in system results, data and reporting and works through to ultimate solution which includes reviewing and analyzing impacted accounts to determine action needed and performing the necessary transactions.
  1. **Communicates technology changes to teams and informs key stakeholders.
  1. **Updates department standard operating procedures for teams to reflect procedure changes due to new functionality.
  1. Facilitates scheduling of meetings, takes meeting notes and tracks and follows up on take-aways.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. Prior project management and/or business analysis experience preferred. 
  • Prior Workers’ compensation and/or insurance experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to comprehend workflows and business operational processes in order to document requested changes or enhancements a must.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple detail-oriented tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to be self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite required.
