Abhinav Sonone

Abhinav Sonone is a seasoned professional in mechanical engineering with extensive experience in research and design. Currently serving as a Senior Research Engineer at The Weir Group PLC since November 2021, Abhinav previously held roles as an Engineer and Graduate Engineering Trainee at Weir Minerals from July 2017 to January 2022. Abhinav’s technical expertise includes work on screw pump impellers, encompassing design, simulation, prototyping, and testing. Abhinav has also demonstrated leadership as Team Lead for the BITS-Techvaders ROBOCON 2016, overseeing the design and fabrication of competition robots focused on clean energy solutions. Prior internships at MAHLE and experience as a member of various engineering and placement committees highlight Abhinav's collaborative skills and commitment to continuous improvement in engineering practices. Abhinav holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, completed in 2017.
