John Juarez

Lead Character Artist at Timberline Studio

John Juarez has a diverse work experience in the field of 3D art and animation. John began their career as an intern at S10 Media, where they gained experience in modeling, texturing, and rigging. John then went on to work as a freelance 3D artist at various companies, including Buried at Sea, Calabash Animation, and Giantsteps, where they worked on a range of projects.

In 2004, John joined DNA Digital Media Group as the Lead 3D Artist. In this role, they managed a team of artists, created proposals, worked with clients, and set up production pipelines. John also worked as a generalist, handling tasks ranging from modeling to animation, and collaborated with other departments to develop tools and assets for each project.

John later worked at filmpaint as the CG Art Director. Here, they were responsible for creating 3D assets for the film White Storm. Their tasks included creating layouts, animatics, lighting, models, textures, animation, tracking, look development, story ideas, and on-set prop fabrication.

In 2012, John returned to Giantsteps as a freelance 3D artist, before transitioning to a similar role at Timberline Studio in 2017. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Artist at Timberline Studio, where they likely oversees and leads the artistic direction for projects.

Throughout their career, John has demonstrated their expertise in 3D art and animation, consistently adapting to different roles and responsibilities within the industry.

John Juarez obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film/Animation from Columbia College Chicago, attending from 2000 to 2004.
