Brian Smith-Sweeney

Brian Smith-Sweeney is an accomplished information security professional currently serving as Vice President and Head of Security Risk Management at Two Sigma since June 2019. Previously, Brian held the position of Chief Information Security Officer at Columbia University Irving Medical Center from 2015 to June 2019, where responsibilities included leading and enhancing the information security program. Brian's earlier experience includes a tenure as Assistant Director at New York University, managing global security operations. Additional roles include Project Lead and Senior Network Security Analyst at Smith-Sweeney Network and Security Consulting LLC, as well as Senior Systems Administrator at UC Santa Barbara. Brian began a career in IT as a Systems Administrator at imagedog media and Clik Communications. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from New York University.
