Liu Ning

LIU Ning currently serves as a Programme Management Officer at the UN Environment Programme since December 2023. Prior to this role, LIU worked as a Program Officer with the Northwest Pacific Action Plan Regional Coordinating Unit from August 2016 to January 2024, focusing on the management of marine and coastal environments in the Northwest Pacific Region. Previous experience includes implementing projects to combat illegal trade in chemicals and waste and engaging in knowledge management and policy development at UNEP from October 2014 to August 2016. LIU also held positions as Deputy Director at FREELAND, Associate Project Officer at UNEP, and Deputy Division Director at the General Administration of China Customs. LIU began a consultancy role at UNEP in April 2005. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environment, Development and Sustainability from Chulalongkorn University, obtained between 2010 and 2016.
