Bahram Mobasher is a Distinguished Professor of Physics and Observational Astronomy at the University of California, Riverside since July 2007, focusing on research in observational extragalactic astronomy and the study of galaxy formation and evolution, while also teaching physics and astronomy. Prior to this role, Bahram worked as a Staff Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute and the European Space Agency from January 2000 to July 2007, where responsibilities included maintaining and calibrating instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope and conducting research in observational astronomy. Additionally, Bahram served as a Research Fellow at Imperial College London from October 1992 to December 2000, concentrating on galaxy formation and evolution. Bahram holds both an MSc and PhD in Observational Cosmology from Durham University, earned between 1981 and 1988.
