Dan LaBarbera is the Founder, President, and Chief Scientific Officer of Onconaut Therapeutics Incorporated (OTI) since August 2022, where the focus is on developing precision medicines that target tumor progression, metastasis, and multi-drug resistance in cancer patients. In addition to this role, Dan LaBarbera holds multiple academic positions at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, including Professor, Director of the CU AMC Center for Drug Discovery, Co-Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Shared Resource, and Director of the high-throughput screening and chemical biology core facility, with a history as an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor with tenure. Dan LaBarbera completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry and Multidisciplinary Cancer Research at the University of Utah (2005-2008) after earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Arizona State University (2001-2005 and 1998-2001, respectively).
