Clare Dougherty

Clare Dougherty is currently a Graduate Student at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine since June 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Patient Care Technician at Michigan Medicine on the Neurosurgery/Stroke Unit, where responsibilities involved assisting patients with activities of daily living. Clare also volunteered at Hope Clinic, obtaining patient vitals and medical histories, and contributed to research with Dr. Kevin M. Bakker by organizing historical data on global influenza and SARS-CoV-2 monitoring in wastewater samples. Additional experience includes roles such as Education Vice President and Recording Secretary at Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority, an International Intern with the Uganda Village Project focusing on health sensitization, a Care Partner at Balfour Senior Living, and a Hostess at Yaya's Euro Bistro. Clare holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in German Language and Literature and Biology, Health, and Society, and received a Nursing Assistant Certification from South Denver School of Nursing Arts.
