Marian Florescu

Marian Florescu is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the field of physics. Currently serving as a Professor at the University of Southampton since December 2024, Marian previously held various roles at the University of Surrey from September 2011 to December 2024, including Professor, Director of the Surrey Research Compute, Reader, Director of the Research and Innovation Department of Physics, and Senior Lecturer. Prior to that, Marian was a Research Scholar and Lecturer at Princeton University from September 2007 to August 2011. Marian began a research career as a Research Associate at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from September 2003 to August 2007 and at the National Research Council Canada from September 2002 to August 2003. Marian holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto.
