Denise G Smith

Denise G Smith, FSA, MAAA is an experienced actuary with a strong background in long-term care valuation and disability insurance modeling. Currently serving as Director, Actuary for LTC Valuation at Unum since March 2021, Denise led a significant project to transition a legacy modeling system to Prophet, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual workload. Previously, Denise held roles at Ohio National Financial Services, where responsibilities included quarterly GAAP reserve reporting for variable annuities and updating reinsurance models. Early career experiences include market research at American Commercial Barge Line and internships focused on data analysis at American Modern Insurance Group and The Colonial Group. Denise holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Economics and Mathematics from the University of Kentucky.
