J. Gordon Beattie

J. Gordon Beattie, Jr. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in telecommunications and communication technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Research Scientist/Engineer at VIAVI Solutions since September 2021, Beattie focuses on RF Service Assurance and Service Enablement, with key areas of investigation including 5G/6G and Disaster Communications. As a Volunteer Communications Team Leader/Technician for the Passaic County Sheriff's Office since June 2012, responsibilities include planning and managing communications resources for various events. Beattie is also a Life Member and Technical Advisor with the American Radio Relay League and has held pivotal roles in Boy Scout Troop 139 as Scoutmaster. Prior professional experience includes roles at AT&T Labs, where Beattie retired in September 2021 after serving as a Principal Systems Engineer, and earlier positions at NJIT EIES during the initial development of Amateur Packet Radio.
