Scope of Work

Since 2015, VillageReach has been collaborating with the DRC Government to address health systems challenges to improve last-mile delivery of vaccines through the next generation of supply chain (NGCA), outsourced drones transport for health product distribution private sector engagement, supply chain investment and coordination, gender-focused polio community-based engagement, polio special vaccine strategies in riverine communities as well as technical assistance to immunization programs such as Mashako Plan and the Equity Accelerator Funds (EAF).

VillageReach is seeking a communications officer to support the documentation of its key solutions implemented throughout DRC, particular its efforts to amplify DRC programs, successes stories and lessons learned, as well as to develop stories of beneficiaries from various solutions for the reduction of zero-dose children.  

The person will report to the Interim Deputy Country Director based in Kinshasa, while also collaborating with the global communications teams.

Terms: This is a consultant position through December 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Support program stakeholders to ensure that all key program phases and components are properly accounted for in the documentation.
  • Produce materials including writing articles, program summaries, case studies, and/or technical briefs to maximize visibility of VillageReach’s solutions.
  • Support the production of quarterly French bulletin.
  • Support the production of scripts for the audiovisual documentation of select activities.
  • Support management of media for the coverage of key activities
  • Support the development of the country annual report.
  • Participate in regular internal project meeting, as needed.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Deliverables

  • Communications assets about best practices in reducing zero-dose children through EAF-specific activities, including integration of gender perspective in Tshopo and in Haut Katanga
  • Communications assets on efforts to reduce circulation of polio variant in Haut-Katanga et Tanganyika using special vaccination strategies with a focus on hard to reach, and riverine communities
  • Main story for the annual report (2-3 pages)
  • Stories and resumes of solutions achievements for the annual report
