Melissa Westerman is an experienced educator currently serving as a Lead Teacher at Fred Becker Elementary School and the Waterloo Community School District since 2019. In addition to teaching, Melissa holds roles as a District Mentor Coach, supporting early-career teachers in obtaining state licenses, and as an Instructional Coach, focusing on instructional and behavioral strategies. Prior experience includes serving as a Special Education Consultant at AEA 267 and as a Teacher at Aplington-Parkersburg Middle School. Melissa earned a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Northern Iowa, an MAEd. in Education, and an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University.
