Position Title: Painter

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Supervises: None

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt, non-union

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee of this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of this position.

  • Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, patching holes, and sanding surfaces ensuring that they are clean
  • Mask, tape, and cover floors, windows, etc. to ensure cleanliness
  • Use various brushes, rollers, and sprayers to paint
  • Paint interior and exterior walls, flooring, railings, piping, etc.
  • Apply decal stripping as needed
  • Help in the aid of cleaning work areas for paint preparation and clean-up
  • Paint equipment and machinery as needed
  • Hang and rehang items on walls as necessary
  • Assist Facilities Supervisor with other facilities needs as necessary
  • Adhere to all company safety and health rules and protocols
  • Safely use various ladders and other lifting devices (aerial, boom, scissor) to reach elevated areas that require painting
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least four years of related experience and/or equivalent education & experience
  • Previous painting experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting highly preferred
  • Proficiency in using basic power and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills for data entry
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Supports and demonstrates the Company’s core values

Working Conditions:

This position is designed to work full-time. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An alternate schedule may be arranged or assigned based on the business demands, nature of duties performed, and other factors. Occasional flexibility to work evenings or weekends may be required as job responsibilities demand. Little to no travel is expected for this position. This position mainly operates in a manufacturing environment during work hours with frequent exposure to production equipment and machinery. The employee will manage multiple priorities daily and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of employees. The environment may be busy and noisy. All required personal protective equipment is provided.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend most of his/her time standing and walking. Occasional moving and/or lifting of 50 pounds, stooping, bending, and reaching with hands and arms. While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee will be required to utilize ladders (extension, A-frame, etc.), boom or aerial lifts, scissor lifts, etc. to perform the duties of this job.
