LAURIE McBRIDE is an artist, gardener, and designer. She and her husband own Lost Marbles Ranch, a cattle ranch that is also home to black bears and a herd of elk. With a lifelong interest in wildlife and wildlands, she has served on the boards of the Wildlife Trust and Brandywine Museum and Land Trust and is also involved with Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. McBride graduated from Stanford University, where she majored in English and art. She also attended the Sorbonne in Paris.
