Haoran Yu

Haoran Yu, Ph.D., is an accomplished professional in the field of robotics and control systems engineering, currently serving as the Director of Autonomy Metrics & Collision Avoidance System at Zoox. Previously, Haoran held the position of Director of Robotics & Control Software at Johnson & Johnson MedTech and served as a Senior Manager at Verb Surgical Inc., where responsibilities included managing robotics and control systems engineering. Additional experience includes consulting for Medtronic and fulfilling research roles at Vanderbilt University, including serving as a research assistant and participating in the Vanderbilt Initiative in Surgery and Engineering fellowship. Haoran earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
