Associate, Portfolio Management

Job description

Job Summary:

Support the Chief Investment Officer in the development, communication, and management of investment strategies that seek to maximize risk-adjusted performance across the firm’s discretionary and non-discretionary institutional mandates.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience in fixed income asset management
  • Understanding of portfolio management and fixed income fundamentals
  • Familiarity with securitized/structured products, corporate credit, and cash markets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with VBA, SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and superior analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record with a concentration in finance, economics, mathematics, or other related quantitative/analytical discipline preferred. Advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily cash positions for all discretionary portfolios and work with broader portfolio management team to keep portfolios fully invested
  • Regularly review portfolio analytics and reporting and assist CIO in formulating trade ideas and strategies
  • Review and evaluate portfolio performance reporting, and work with analytics team, as necessary, to tune ex-ante modeling
  • Work with client service team on all discretionary portfolios to ensure all client needs are met
  • Oversee ALM First model portfolios to ensure routine reinvestment and rebalancing is properly maintained
  • Work with analytics team to promote innovation in tools and data available to senior portfolio managers
  • Provide written commentary on portfolio performance and recommendations
  • Support business development in RFP reviews, marketing material, and ad-hoc requests

Minimum Education Qualification:

  • Undergraduate degree.

  

Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
      • Must be able to move about inside and outside of the office

      • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

      • Must be able to effectively communicate.

Work Environment:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/work environment
      • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
