Senior Project Manager

Job description

Atlas is looking for a Senior Project Manager with heavy civil utility experience including, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, force main, de-watering, life stations, and site excavation. Successful candidate must be able to professionally and effectively communicate and coordinate with the owner, onsite staff, subs, vendors, and various back office teams. 

Position Responsibilities include:

Troubleshoot and resolve problems withing projects including coordinating with city/county/state engineers, craft union and subcontractors.

Maintain control of the project budget for each work activity.

Report monthly on the progress and current profitability for all assigned projects.

Authorize, approve, and manage all project change orders.

Oversee contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Approve project invoices and client billings.

Promote safety and security on all projects.

Act as a mentor to Project Managers and Field Engineers.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Degree in Building Construction Management.

Minimum of 18-20 years of project management experience.

Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications.

Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.

Strong attention to detail.

Proficient in MS Office, ProCore, Blue Beam, and HeavyJob.

Atlas Excavating, Inc. specializes in deep and difficult utility installation. We have been in business since 1980 and primarily perform underground utility installation such as watermains, forcemains, sanitary and storm sewers, and lift stations through conventional cut & cover (trench excavation) techniques and through trenchless methods such as directional drilling. Atlas also performs excavating work and has constructed various types of road projects. Our customers include various state and local government agencies, private residential and commercial developers, and general contractors. We work primarily in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Kentucky. We have an office staff that includes several licensed professional engineers and one licensed surveyor who have worked for engineers and Owners and who thoroughly understand projects from an engineer's, Owner's and Contractor's perspective. Therefore, we can work with Owners, engineers, and General Contractors and provide design-build and/or value engineering services through the design phase of a project keeping in mind all of those perspectives.
