Zai Chang

Zai Chang is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leading innovative projects and teams in the fields of bioinformatics, software engineering, and smart technology. Currently serving as Director of xVantage Innovation at DNAnexus, Zai manages multiple teams to enhance customer success and bioinformatics platform adoption while also serving as a solutions architect. Zai is the founder of RecycleVision, focusing on improving recycling rates through IoT devices, and has established Zaia Design Limited, creating the Maplets app, which achieved significant recognition on the App Store. As a co-founder of nephosity, Zai developed the Jack Imaging app for medical imaging collaboration. Previous roles include Director of Mobile Engineering at Oblong Industries, where Zai oversaw mobile app development, as well as contributing to user interface design at Bunkspeed and the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging at UCLA. Zai holds an MFA in Design Media Arts and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, along with a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
