Accounting Assistant

Job Overview:

Farha Roofing is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll processing, credit card data entry, and reviewing vendor AP statements. If you have experience working in accounting and are comfortable using QuickBooks, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time.
• Assist with payroll processing, including data entry and ensuring employees receive correct and timely payments.
• Enter and reconcile credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Review monthly vendor AP statements to ensure all outstanding balances and discrepancies are addressed.
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and organization.
• Support the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with filing and organizing financial documents for audit preparation.
• Handle any ad-hoc accounting tasks or special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2years of experience in an accounting role, with hands-on experience in accounts payable, payroll, and credit card reconciliations.
• QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Google Suite and other accounting software.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Education:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
