We’re looking for an Associate Financial Planner to help us produce a world class experience for clients. This role has potential for progression into either leadership/management as a Head Coach or a track to become a Financial Adviser. This role will play a key part in our mission to transform 5 million lives, by making high quality money advice affordable and accessible.

The role and opportunity 

Associate Financial Planners support various clients at Octopus Money, including coaching clients but also get involved in a variety of pilots and trials playing a key role in testing, building and improving products and processes to ensure we’re providing a world class customer experience. If you are interested in helping people achieve their goals and improve the experience on the way, this could be ideal! 

Day to day you will be:

  • Meeting with clients on video call understanding their goals and providing a tailored service to their needs 
  • Feeding back to relevant teams on how to streamline processes 
  • Coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to identify issues and opportunities, and execute solutions effectively
  • Building strong relationships with clients by actively listening, asking insightful questions, and delivering clear, personalised financial guidance that aligns with their goals.
  • Proactively identifying trends and client pain points, providing data-driven insights to internal teams to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience, and drive business growth.

Good technical knowledge
You don’t need to be a qualified financial adviser but a base level of knowledge within personal finance (pensions, investments, mortgages) is a must!

Knowledge and experience required: 

  • Experience working in a customer facing role within financial services
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • A deep desire to make a positive impact
  • Exceptional empathy, communication and influencing skills
  • Familiarity with investing, pensions and mortgages
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in high-pressure situations
  • Proven ability to handle complex customer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency

Nice to have (but not necessary)

  • Bonus points for a qualification from a financial body or progression towards (CeMAP, ICA, CII etc)

In return for your contribution we offer a base salary of £40,000 - £45,000 DOE + benefits

Please note, as a regulated business we are required to run background checks for all employees which covers adverse financial and unspent convictions. These will only take place upon a successful job offer.

Flexible working
We currently operate a hybrid model which is a mix of office and remote. You'll have the option of working from home 2 days per week (Monday and Friday) with the remainder from our central London office in Holborn.

We give an 18 day work from anywhere allowance to swap out the on site days or take some time working from another country. Due to regulations this does not apply to individuals that give regulated financial advice.

Share incentive plan and team bonus

For those who are not commission based we offer a team bonus of up to 10% provided we meet our team goals. The % allocation is determined on the basis of our collective performance.
