Senior Financial Accountant

Peach Payments is a fast growing Pan-African PSP that makes online commerce and digital payment acceptance easier and more accessible across all Africa. We work with small and large sellers to provide a complete toolkit to accept, manage and disburse payments through web and mobile. Our merchant partners include your favourite food delivery services, whether you’re ordering in or using a meal kit, travel services that can help you book your next getaway adventure and even your neighbour’s side-hustle e-commerce store. For these partners and their customers, we aim to provide delightful experiences that make it as easy as possible to facilitate online payments.

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team and play a key role in financial accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting our growth. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for numbers, we’d love to hear from you!

Your mission, if you choose to accept:

• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate posting and reconciliation.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
• Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accountants.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Process and pay foreign vendor invoices.
• Ensure correct accounting for intercompany transactions.
• Manage accounts payable across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
• Assist with external audits.
• Support the preparation of monthly management and board reports.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis and provide financial performance insights.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.

What we’d like you to have:

• CA(SA) qualification

• 0-3 years post-article experience

• Proficiency with accounting software

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Highly organized with great attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to adapt to ambiguity
