About Roscommon Analytics:

Roscommon Analytics LLC is a fast-growing business using technology and analytics expertise to generate profits in the energy commodity markets, with a focus on power and natural gas. Since its inception in November 2016, the firm has grown to over 100 employees with offices around the globe. Roscommon is backed by a small group of prominent institutional investors.

The firm started with offices in New York and Houston, trading in the North American power and gas markets. It opened an office in Australia in 2019 to leverage its analytics in the Australian power markets.  In 2021 it entered the European natural gas markets with an office in London, and has now grown to include offices in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, and France to focus on the European power, gas, and carbon markets.

In the United States, one of Roscommon’s major growth initiatives is entering the battery and renewable energy markets by leveraging its deep understanding of the underlying power markets.  The Company is investing in the development of “utility scale” battery installations.

Position Overview: The Management Company Controller will assist the CFO by being a key team player focusing on further institutionalizing processes and procedures across the accounting and finance teams as well as help drive business growth with involvement in special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare books and records of management companies monthly as well as a budget to actual
  • Oversight of financial reporting for various complex investment structures
  • Establishment of accounting policies and ensure strong financial controls are maintained
  • Manage and report cash flow on a periodic basis
  • Manage the preparation of recurring and ad hoc internal and external performance and investor reporting
  • Interact with front office traders on ad hoc requests. Liaise with investment professionals, technology, middle office, audit/tax accounting firms, etc.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects to drive business growth
  • Participate in the ongoing improvement of department processes and technology

Preferred qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience working in the financial services and Big 4 industry.
  • Knowledge of complex hedge fund/private equity structures; experience with global multi-manager hedge funds strongly preferred.
  • Public/Private/Admin experience working with hybrid and closed-end funds
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills required
  • Expertise in Excel; Sage Intacct; SAP Concur; python coding
  • Expertise in US GAAP; IFRS; CPA or equivalent certification
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
