Mads Gyrd-Hansen

Mads Gyrd-Hansen is a prominent researcher in the field of cellular and molecular biology, currently serving as a Professor at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen since October 2020. Mads holds the position of Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow, Group Leader, and EMBO Young Investigator at the University of Oxford since October 2013, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of pro-inflammatory signaling during innate immune responses, particularly in relation to chronic inflammation and cancer progression. Previous roles include Associate Professor at the NNF Center for Protein Research at University of Copenhagen and Postdoctoral Fellow positions at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre and The Institute of Cancer Research. Mads completed a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 1995 to 2005, following education at Birkerød gymnasium from 1989 to 1992.
